COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will focus on issues in health disparities, including priority populations, the relevance of race, ethnicity and minority status in culture and various health profiles of people at different stages of their lives. It will address the difference between inequity and inequality, as well as the variations in the definition of the phrase health disparity itself. It also will focus on health status and determinants of health, including the definition of health and the concepts that includes, such as quality of life and functional health status.
