COURSE DESCRIPTION

SWPI 106 covers Essential Service 6. This course discusses the significance of environmental laws, rules and regulations in the protection of public health and the role of environmental health professionals in enforcing them.

The basic components needed for establishing unregulated drinking water systems ordinances will be covered as well as the importance of reviewing and using new research to update ordinances. Key elements of regulatory enforcement such as equity and responsivity is also discussed.
